Through years of training and dedication Cole has become a sixth degree black belt in two martial arts discipline. These two martial arts are Northern Shaolin Kung Fu and Hung Gar Kung fu. The reason he chose these two styles is because of his skateboarding passion which has led to him often using his legs more often in combat. Northern Shaolin kung fu is a dynamic style which uses powerful arm and leg movements. The northern Shaolin generally consist of long range techniques, wide stances, quick advances and retreats. It also involves kicking and leaping techniques, whirling circular blocks, quickness and agility and aggressive attacks. Norther Shaolin is beautiful to look at but can be very dangerous. Hung Gar kung fu is a style based in strong stances and it's rooting to the ground. It's a southern tradition of Chinese Kung Fu. The users of this style generate power from strong stepping, using low stances and transitions from left to right. Hung Gar is based on the movements of animals, more specifically the tiger which symbolizes hard power and the crane which symbolizes soft power.
