Powers: AJ was gifted with a genius-level intellect which allows him to create various inventions for the field and everyday life as well as analyze combat situations. He also has the elephant spirit which grants him superhuman strength and durability.
Personality: At his core, AJ is a problem solver. He views everything as a potential problem from social interactions to combat and everything in between. AJ will analyze a situation and quickly compute the best course of action to create a positive outcome for himself and others depending on the situation. Unfortunately, he will try to solve the problems of others even when he was not asked to which has led him to get a reputation as a bit of a busybody, despite his honest intention to be helpful. He needs to learn that sometimes one can be too helpful and that some people would rather not discuss their personal problems and he should mind his own business. AJ is otherwise a very positive and happy-go-lucky person, he wears his heart on his sleeve, things rarely get him angry or upset but if they do one would be wise to steer clear of him. This also makes it tricky to socialize with AJ as he can be easily hurt or tricked by liars and deceptive people.
He is honest and loyal, a bit quirky, and too smart for his own good. Any sort of electrical appliance or technology he has yet to completely understand will be taken apart until he does, then reassembled (eventually). AJ loves technology and learning new things, then using what he has learned to invent new devices he believes will make his life or the lives of others easier in some way, making things a bit more convenient. When he is not learning or inventing AJ spends his free time making jokes (usually bad ones) and stuffing his face with food.
Fun facts, AJ hates his full name as he feels it does not invoke any "coolness" so he always introduces himself simply as AJ and if asked what the initials stand for, he will quickly change the subject in order to guard the secret with his life. His favorite food is peanut butter and pizza, either separately or together, and he suffers from musophobia.
History: Shortly after birth, it became apparent AJ was unlike other children, he seemed to develop mentally much faster than the average baby, speaking his first words at 6 months old and was able to read English, German, and Korean by the time he was 3 years old. As he grew older he became fascinated with how things work, taking them apart and reassembling them. It wasn't long before he was building his own simple inventions using household objects.
AJ's mother supported his gifts, supplying him with books and construction toys so he would leave the household appliances alone. By the time he was 6, he had already built a simplified remote controlled robot which ran on batteries. This was not the only milestone for the 6-year-old as it was also the first time he learned of his ancestor Adam Park, the second longest serving Power Ranger behind Tommy Oliver. The Time Force agents had shown up at the front door of the Park residence asking AJ's parents for Adam's Zeo and Turbo Ranger gear as it had been kept safe and passed down thru the family for generations in case one day a new ranger was needed. Knowing it was the right thing to do they handed over the gear and explained to their young son why it was important.
From that day on AJ felt it was a family tradition to help others and asked for his father to train him in the family fighting style. He was taught how to rely more on his instincts than vision just as Adam did. When he was 10 AJ was sent to the Pai Zhuq academy to further his martial arts training with hopes of becoming a ranger himself. Over the course of 9 years he trained while constantly trying to better himself and still retaining his love for technology in order to sharpen his mind as much as his body. It wasn't always easy to live so far from his family back in Angel Grove but deep down the teen knew he was doing the right thing. Life at the academy was different, the food was certainly average at best, in fact it was the second worst thing about being there. If he had not been able to sneak off for a double bacon cheeseburger and fries every so often the young martial artist would have gone crazy.
While training he eventually gained powerful allies who would eventually become masters, Quinn, Lucas, and Luna. He watched them grow stronger everyday which in turn helped inspire him to become greater, as if they were forging the road for him to follow. It was no surprise to watch them become Power Rangers and while some would become jealous that his peers were surpassing him, he only felt honored to know future legendary Rangers. Quinn, a fellow descendant of one of the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was the one who brought AJ the good news, that he too had been chosen to be a Ranger and would take him to the crypt to receive the powers of the elephant spirit.
The teen would move to Ocean Bluff to continue to train with this newfound power and team, each day taking one more step toward becoming a master as well. With determination, he eventually summoned a green elephant avatar which granted him superhuman strength."Calling on the spirit of the elephant, Jungle Fury!" AJ felt a strong bond with the elephant spirit, elephants are often thought of as gentle giants and considered wise in some cultures. Traits he felt he shared with the great animal. There he would pit his power against the Rhino Ranger Lucas, someone he felt was a kindred spirit as well as looking up to Luna for her sheer willpower and determination. He hoped together they could become a great team like so many Ranger teams before them, but only time would tell.
